The international aspect of the Felix Schoeller Photo Award, and its focus on photography professionals, impressed the directors of Fantac Culture Development, Nanjing, China. Consequently, Fantac is now the sponsor for the third edition of the award, to be held 2017. Fantac’s future plans for its business include expansion from Asia into North America, the Middle East and Europe, and the company is therefore seeking to build its image through its association with the Felix Schoeller Photo Award and to raise its profile among the professional photography community.

In return, the Felix Schoeller Photo Award would like to further increase the awareness of the competition in China. To facilitate this, from December 2017, the terms and conditions of entry will also be published in a Chinese version. In last year’s competition, photographers from China already constituted the seventh-largest group of international entrants.

Fantac Culture Development, which has around 200 employees, has chosen to specialise in the production of digital photo reproductions on inkjet papers. The company’s target customers include both professional and amateur photographers, with Fantac producing high-quality photo prints for exhibitions and museums as well as photo books, albums, and frames for both customer groups. At Photokina 2016, the business was extensively recognised by the audience of international photographers thanks to the quality of its products.

Fantac Culture Development’s premises in Nanjing include a production facility with an area of approximately 13,000 square metres including office space. The facility is home to a research and development laboratory as well as a sales office that serves as an exhibition space that allows customer visits. Alongside many other activities, Fantac is Canon’s exclusive strategic partner for the Chinese market, and the jointly-operated “Canon & Fantac Imaging Solutions R&D Center” is an element of that partnership.
